Reflection- Digital Journalism

Presenting

Coming towards the presentation date I had recorded all the clips and got all my pictures and my Tiktok video clips and was still in the process of editing my finishing touches to my video with all the audio, transitions and my parts of explaining my making and process of making the whole video. I would have loved my video but i didn't truly like all my editing I didn't think it was good enough and I thought if I had more time for the project I would have produced a better and more quality presentation video for Shaun and the whole class.

Now that I come to think of it even before submitting the video I realised that i didn't even actually complete the goals that Shaun had set out for us on the website.
And the goals where:
  • Learn about the historical relationship between journalism and media technologies (print, radio, TV)
  • Learn how the Internet has made new modalities of communication possible
  • Learn how digital tools make new kinds of research possible.
And that was already a disadvantage to and for my video before even presenting it.

Anyways going into the lecture and sitting down already doubting my own video from the first video Shaun had showed to the whole class and realising that my video is totally and completely out of proportion. Shaun had split all the videos into 3 groups and during the watch of all the videos we had to fill in/select certain boxes relating to certain questions that Shaun had put out relating to each video shown.

Coming closer to my video which was the last of of 25 videos supposedly because I did my video by myself I don't know. But anyways I was nervously not looking forward to my video me near the back row of the class with red cheeks, hot ears and sweaty palms not sitting in my seat properly but my friend Lougein telling me it was going to be alright even though she as well was freaking out about her own video too.

It then eventually came to my video and as soon as I heard my voice i slowly but quickly covered my face in and listened to my video through my head and hearing people react and laugh at my video made it feel a little bit ok but then again I knew because of the questions Shaun had given us to answer I would not get high marks first because I did the project by myself and that is not classified as teamwork and also because I did not complete the goals.

But overall I have learn bits and pieces from the other peoples projects from my class on editing and how to go about in the video side of the projects.Next time the video making and editing will not be left for later date as soon as i get another video presentation or even a normal presentation there is no need the wait start as soon as it was given.
